This video shows a Mach 2.0 supersonic turbulent boundary layer developing over a flat plate. The incompressible momentum thickness Reynolds number is approximately 2710 near the end of the domain. This simulation was conducted using approximately 50,000 cores on a HPCMP supercomputing cluster. For more details about this flow, see the dissertation of Jonathan Gaskins titled 'Numerical Studies of Supersonic Turbulent Boundary Layers.'
