It's imperative to study how renewable energy devices affect wildlife. This study aims to investigate the ways in which fish interact with operational marine hydrokinetic (MHK) turbines in marine and riverine ecosystems. Digitally twining the observed trajectories of a rainbow trout fish with the results obtained from a high-resolution large-eddy simulation, this video attempts to elucidate the experimentally observed fish behavior in the presence of turbulent wake flow.
