In this work we have succeeded to create for the first time a donut of water that is able to stay stable. This shape, also called a torus, owes its existence to the surface on which it sits, which was made to contain it but also is coated with a water repelling treatment, similar to that of a lotus leaf. The curvature of the torus, and its closed and compact form, allows us to study what kind of effects these properties have on waves that propagate on its borders.
