Oftentimes, the study of falling plates focuses on regular shapes, however, many structures found in nature do not necessarily take on regular geometries. Experimentally, we study the dynamics of falling bodies in water, using industrial-grade mica plates. Three falling modes of the plates are observed, determined by Re (Reynolds number).
