The video shows the deformation of a bubble placed in a cylinder filled with water, and rotated about its horizontal axis. The bubble undergoes oscillations in shape, and eventually breaks into two nearly identical fragments.

The mechanism is a mechanism of resonance, when the frequency of the forcing induced by the rotation on the off-centered bubble, and the eigenfrequency of the bubble coincide.
