The movie presents a three-dimensional evolution of the drop for Weber number 3.21 and Reynolds number 1035. It is a result of an axisymmetric direct numerical simulation of a complete cycle of drop bouncing. The drop begins from initial height and then impact on a superhydrophobic solid surface. During impact, it entraps a gas bubble from the top due to capillary waves, after lift-off from the surface bubble escapes from the drop. Simulation is carried out in Gerris. Video also includes the evolution of the kinetic, surface and potential energies during the bouncing.
