This video highlights key features of a complex three dimensional boundary layer flow. In efforts to model spin stabilized projectiles, a smoke-wire technique is implemented to visualize the flow field over a spinning cone at angle of attack. Images of the streakline patterns are compared to the incompressible potential flow solution of flow over a nonspinning cone at zero incidence to demonstrate the robustness of the experimental setup. Images of this flow phenomena are captured in a low speed, open return wind tunnel with a high speed camera.

The accompanying music is a is a composition by Arcangelo Corelli, Concerto grosso in D major, Op. 6, No. 4.
