V0057: The Surfactant-free Persistance of Surface Bubbles in a Volatile Liquid

Bubbles at the free surface of pure, volatile liquids display surprising stability despite a lack of surfactants at their interface. Here we investigate these bubbles and explain a mechanism which may be responsible for their persistance without rupture.
