When a solid body enters the liquid (water), very complex deformation of free surface results in the cavity and jets below and above the free surface. Here, we classify the jet formation and explain its mechanism through a high-speed imaging of a water entry of solid objects with various aspect ratio. The film dynamics governed by the interplay between inertia, surface tension, and viscosity, and the flow induced the moving body are essenetial to understand this beautiful phenomena.
