P0032: Bursting surface bubbles: The Mezcal case

When an air bubble reaches a free surface, after a short transient, it 
rests on the surface for some time and eventually it bursts. The 
bursting occurs when the fluid film drains and breaks. This process has 
been vastly studied. For the case of water-alcohol mixtures the draining 
film is also influenced by Marangoni-type flow, leading to long bursting 
times and interesting differences in the bursting process. These images 
show some of these characteristic features. This investigation is 
motivated by the use of such bubbles in the artisanal process to make 
mezcal, a traditional agave spirit from Mexico. For more details please
