The impact of a sphere is a classic problem in fluid mechanics. Here we study a new type of impact in which the surface properties of the liquid are modified by the presence of a very thin elastic sheet. This film wrinkles upon impact, modifying the dynamic evolution of impact. The dynamic wrinkling observed here also highlights some previously unknown features of how elastic objects wrinkle.
