As the symphony plays in the crucible
Rising and falling with the dark tide
We distill in the silence between notes
That’s where the beauty is conceived
Like glowing embers falling to the hearth
You thought that was the waste, didn’t you?
Our flame is water
And as the last sip is pulled from the draught, a flicker remains
A babe’s whispering breath as he falls asleep
So faint, so invigorating
We grasp what we know and let it shape us
And from such a simple existence emerges complexity, beauty

But it’s fragile, oh so fragile
Just one drip from the lifeblood that bonds us together tears us apart
We are broken
Walled by white chasms
And yet, not broken just remade
Not the same but not wholly different
We emerge
Once again beautiful
